IDAHO FALLS (AP) - Bonneville County commissioners have unanimously voted to have Chief Deputy Prosecutor Bruce Pickett become the next county prosecutor.

The Post Register reports that commissioners made the decision on Wednesday.

Pickett replaces Dane Watkins, who is resigning Dec. 30 to be sworn in Jan. 3 as a 7th District Court Judge.

Watkins is replacing Judge Gregory Anderson, who is retiring.

Pickett says he wants to work with the Idaho Falls Police Department and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office to target repeat criminal offenders.
