Ceremony of Remembrance is Dec. 11

| November 26, 2010 8:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Lake City Community Church is having its sixth annual "Ceremony of Remembrance" from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Dec. 11.

There will be a guest speaker, prayer, music, brunch, and a chance for people to honor loved ones.

The idea of the event is to help those dealing with the loss of a loved one. One way to do that is when each person gets a chance to place an ornament on a tree, with names of their loved ones who have died.

"The holidays are always a minefield for those who have lost someone," said Joanie Dwyer, care director at LCCC.

She said it can be difficult especially during the first holidays away from a loved one.

In past years, about 150 people have attended the Ceremony of Remembrance.

It is free and the public is welcome.

Those planning to attend are asked to register by calling Patty at LCCC, 676-0632.
