COLLEGE WOMEN

SPOKANE - Sophomore Kama Griffitts scored 23 points to lead the 14th-ranked North Idaho Cardinals past the Community Colleges of Spokane 67-56 on Tuesday in a nonconference matchup at Spokane Falls Community College.

"We didn't come out as good as we wanted," NIC coach Chris Carlson said. "To have played five games in seven days and travel over 1,500 miles, I was happy with how we finished the game. Kama had a nice night with 23 points. Spokane is a good team."

Kiki Edwards-Teasley had 12 points in her return to the starting lineup after sitting out Saturday's game against Colby College with an ankle injury.

"KiKi got us off to a good start on the scoreboard," Carlson said. "Both her and Deanna (Dotts) are playing great in the five spot for us."

Coeur d'Alene High grad Amanda Buttrey scored five points for CCS.

NIC (9-0) will host the Idaho All-Stars on Saturday.
