Cd'A Athletic Club hires Arndt

The Coeur d'Alene Athletic Club announced it has hired trainer Tim Arndt, who is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

He is moving to Coeur d'Alene from Vancouver, Wash.

The club, located at 208 E. Coeur d'Alene Ave., said Arndt "brings another level of expertise to the Coeur d'Alene Athletic Club that is complimentary to our team of certified trainers."

Free business workshop offered

A business development specialist and contracting officer for the Small Business Administration office in Seattle will present at a free workshop focused on doing business with the government.

The workshop is targeted to small business owners with little or no experience contracting with the federal government.

The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 in Post Falls at the Idaho Small Business Development Center, located on the Post Falls campus of North Idaho College, at 525 W. Clearwater Loop.

The workshop is designed to take participants step-by-step through the maze of government contracting with an emphasis on preparing cost proposals (bids) structured to fall within the competitive range. Topics for discussion will include overhead, prevailing wages, profit, direct and indirect costs.

Organizers recommend participants bring a calculator and a copy of the most current year-end profit and loss statement for their businesses
