DEBATE: Match Roetter v. Hart

| November 19, 2010 9:00 PM

I am usually patient but am now as tired as I need to be with the hair pulling and sand throwing, more commensurate with school children than with adults, that is coming from a member of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee Board: Honorable State Committeeman Matt Roetter.

What gave Honorable Committeeman Roetter the impetus to put his political ineptitude on display at a KCRCC board meeting by refusing to support a candidate he was sworn to support, who could know? At this juncture, I wonder that Honorable Committeeman Roetter could answer this question himself.

Thus it is that I am taking advantage of the largess of the Coeur d'Alene Press, vis-à-vis the "Readers Write The Press" forum, to stridently urge Honorable Committeeman Roetter to challenge Honorable Representative Phil Hart to an open debate in a public forum such that the issue at hand might be resolved ... finally.

The debate could be held in one of the conference rooms at any of the fine establishments in the Coeur d'Alene area. A panel of judges comprised of members of college debate teams along with a Parliamentarian would insure that the strict rules of argument and advocacy would prevail. At issue would be Honorable Committeeman Roetter's personal assessment of Honorable Representative Hart's integrity. (Seems to be the case.) Sub topics: Taxes, logging and one of Honorable Committeeman Roetter's choosing.

Three distinct debate segments with short intermissions between them. The public is cordially invited. The panel of judges will award the victory to whomsoever is worthy thereof. One debater would prevail, one would not, both, along with the rest of Kootenai County if not the state of Idaho, would move on.
