WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — Former Coeur d’Alene High standout Kama Griffitts had 19 points to lead four players in double-figures as the 14th-ranked North Idaho Cardinals defeated the Sheridan Generals 85-70 in nonconference play Wednesday night.

“We got out to a sluggish start, but clamped down really hard in the second half,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “We came out and started to hit some 3s and got them out of their zone. Sheridan’s probably the best team we’ve faced all season.”

Tugce Canitez had 16 points and nine rebounds for NIC (5-0), which faces Eastern Utah today in the Casper College tournament.

Amy Warbrick had 11 points, with Camille Reynolds and Chantel Divilbiss scoring 10 points apiece for NIC.

“Camille and Amy really sparked some turnovers with some pressure and we were able to convert,” Carlson said. “Kama began to find her range from the 3-point line in the second half. It was pretty nice to hit 12 3s as a team.”
