Education corridor project will be discussed tonight

| November 16, 2010 8:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - The price tag has been calculated.

But before the go-ahead is given for reconstruction on the education corridor project, partnering agencies need to know more about the conceptual design, as well as who is going to fund it.

The conceptual design is being presented around town by JUB Engineers.

Next up is the Coeur d'Alene City Council meeting at 6 tonight in the Community Room of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.

JUB Engineers estimates that building out the education corridor's infrastructure around North Idaho College could cost around $9 million.

That price would bring in enhancements such as one mile of expanded streets - namely a built-out Hubbard Street, Mullan Road and College Drive - bike lanes, traffic-calming roundabouts and two new signals, and a mile and a half of connecting bicycle paths to the Centennial Trial.
