Emma (Jeanne) Cherry, 79

Passed away on Nov. 4, 2010. Jeanne was born on Aug. 12, 1931, in Naylor, Mo. Jeanne was the sixth of nine children of Earnest and Clara Caldwell.

Jeanne and Edwin A. Cherry married on Sept. 2, 1950, and have shared 60 years together. They have six children, Donald L. Sipes, Edwin A. Cherry Jr., Cinda N. Cherry-Brown, Phillip M. Cherry, Robert F. Cherry and Joseph D. Cherry.

Edwin and Jeanne have six grandchildren Scott Cherry, Paul Cherry and Ashley Cherry; Laura Brown, Jennifer Silva-Brown and Rebecca Brown. There are also five great-grandchildren.

Jeanne was a very active person all her life, she highly enjoyed brisk walks (and left whoever joined her in the "dust"). She loved to decorate their home and she was always interested in taking classes and learning a new hobby. She sewed clothes for family; she did all types of needlework, knitting and quilts as well as being an avid reader.

After marriage Jeanne and Edwin lived in Santa Fe, N.M., and El Paso, Texas. In 1955 they moved to Southern California where they stayed until Edwin retired from LA County Fire Department. In 1986 they retired to Heber City, Utah, where Jeanne loved to grow "her flowers." She spent hours planting, watering and pruning so that everyone could enjoy her flowers. In 1998 they moved to Ivins, Utah, they lived there for 10 years until Jeanne's Alzheimer progressed and they moved to Coeur d'Alene, where their daughter could help with her care.

They enjoyed many adventures in their lifetime. They loved to go camping, boating and fishing and often times would just decide to "take off" in the car and off they would go on another adventure! Enjoy this new adventure Jeanne and know that you lived the best life possible and you are loved by so many friends and family.
