Charissa Chatburn added nine points on three 3-pointers, while Kara Bruce added four assists and Jordan Speelmon five steals for the Bulldogs (1-1), who held the Lumberjacks to just 25 percent shooting in the second half.

"Tonight Hailey let loose a little and was an ignitor for us," said Sandpoint coach Lance Bruce, who thought Cheyanne Tucker's six quick points off the bench in the second quarter were huge. "That gave us a little separation and was big to have that coming off the bench."

Dusti Huddleston posted eight points, 11 rebounds and five assists, and Kendra Buell scored nine to lead the Lumberjacks, who dressed just seven players in their season opener.

"I thought our girls played well for being short handed," first-year St. Maries coach Jay Sines said. "We got a little tired."
