Fromm's back OK for NIC

COEUR d'ALENE - Former Lake City High standout Nick Fromm had 11 points and eight rebounds as the third-ranked North Idaho College men's basketball team rolled past the Gonzaga club team 90-44 in a nonconference game at Christianson Gym on Thursday night.

"That's what he does, he goes out every night and outworks the other guys under the basket," NIC coach Jared Phay said.

Due to a back injury, Phay wasn't sure if Fromm could return for his sophomore season.

"He couldn't play from March to August because of his back," Phay said. "He was able to eat and lift. Those things were big in him being able to come back strong."

Michael Hale had 17 points in 16 minutes for NIC (6-0), which faces Salish-Kootenai College on Tuesday in Pablo, Mont.
