Cash donations needed for senior center Thanksgiving dinner

| November 12, 2010 8:00 PM

Planning continues for the free Thanksgiving dinner at the Lake City Senior Center.

Organizer Mike Hillicoss said he has plenty of volunteers ready to go on Nov. 25, but what he could really use is cash donations to buy enough food, turkey and cover other costs for the event that attracts hundreds of people.

Dinner is served from noon to 2 p.m. and all are welcome.

It is the 12th year for Michael and Vickie Hillicoss putting on the dinner that last year cost a little more than $2,000. This year, they're hoping to raise $3,000.

Anyone who wants to donate can send checks or drop by cash at the Lake City Senior Center, 1916 Lakewood Drive. Just note the check is for the turkey dinner.
