Pilgrim to discuss Holy Land visit

COEUR d'ALENE - Local businessman and resident Kyle Helmhout will share personal experiences of his nine-day pilgrimage to Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel, and the prison-city of Akka' at the celebration of the Birth of Baha'u'llah at 7 p.m. Friday at the Baha'i Center, 2705 N. Howard St.

The public is invited to share in the festivities and to hear stories of the life of the Prophet-Founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah, who was banished to Palestine (Israel) by the Ottoman Empire in 1868 and died there in 1892, still a prisoner and in exile from his homeland of Persia, modern day Iran.

Eagle cruise to help Boy Scouts

COEUR d'ALENE - The Inland Northwest Council, Boy Scouts of America presents its "Twilight Eagle Cruise & Dinner Auction" on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The cruise is provided by Lake Coeur d'Alene Resort Cruises. Boarding time is at 3 p.m. and sailing time begins at 3:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Camp Easton on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Tickets are $45 each and table sponsorships are $500.

Auction items include a one night's stay at the Davenport Hotel Tower, Triple Play Family Fun Park passes and Spokane Symphony tickets.
