Reported kidnapping at Cd'A Casino apparent misunderstanding

WORLEY - A reported kidnapping Sunday afternoon at the Coeur d'Alene Casino was apparently nothing more than a misunderstanding, according to Coeur d'Alene Tribe spokesman Marc Stewart.

A man and wife, visiting the casino with their child, were reportedly involved in a disagreement of some sort, said Stewart, who relayed information from tribal police. The woman took the child and left the casino, Stewart said, causing some confusion.

When the child could not be located, police were called, he added.

"As far as we know right now, there was not a kidnapping," Stewart said late Sunday afternoon.

Police confirmed the mother had the child in her custody, he added.
