Joan L. Kimball, 82

Joan L. Kimball, 82, of Hayden, passed away Nov. 5, 2010, in Coeur d'Alene. She was born March 27, 1928, in La Junta, Colo., where she attended schools and graduated from La Junta High School in 1946. Joan was involved in school activities, church summer camp and Story Lady at the local library.

She moved to Spokane in 1950 and worked in accounting for several auto dealerships prior to working at the downtown branch of the Old National Bank. Joan married Ed Kimball in 1952 and was very active in school and political functions. She became a member of the Spokane Lilac Association and served as Royalty Chaperon before becoming a Vice President.

Joan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ed Kimball and by her children, one daughter and her husband, Kathy and Larry Long of Spokane; two sons and their wives, Randall and Theresa Kimball of Spokane, and Russell and Debra Karney of Aurora, Ohio; her four grandchildren, Steven Oman, Paula Rosselet, Jessica Taylor and Jake Kimball, all of Spokane, and nine great-grandchildren.

As requested by Joan, a private family service will be held followed by burial at the Dartford Cemetery in Spokane. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
