"Tyrone was huge for us tonight," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "He played well for us from the get-go."

NIC (4-0) faces the North Idaho All-Stars on Tuesday at Christianson Gymnasium.

"We had to overcome some things that happen on the road," Phay said. "We needed to become mentally tougher, and I thought we were able to do that on this trip."

"Our full-court pressure was real nice," NIC coach Chris Carlson said. "We extended it a little bit tonight and created a lot of turnovers. We've been focusing on our defense a lot and made some adjustments."

Kiki Edwards-Teasley had 14 points, Kama Griffitts 12 and Tugce Canitez had 11 points and 13 rebounds for NIC, which opens its home schedule on Saturday against an alumni team.

SPOKANE - Former Bonners Ferry standout Adam Hall defeated Jeremy Bommarito by technical fall as the NCAA second-ranked Boise State Broncos defeated the NJCAA second-ranked North Idaho Cardinals at Mead High on Saturday.

"To have a chance to wrestle a team like Boise, you've got to jump on it," NIC coach Pat Whitcomb said. "I'm proud of how the guys battled tonight. Our wins against those Montana schools helped us, just like the losses tonight do."

Whitcomb estimated around 2,000 spectators came out to watch the showdown of wrestling powerhouses.

"To have that many people gets you prepared for nationals," Whitcomb said. "It's good to have that kind of crowd."
