SCHOOLS: Parents can pay a surcharge

| November 7, 2010 9:00 PM

This letter is in response to Wednesday's announcement that the Coeur d'Alene School District is trying to grab some more taxpayers dollars... AGAIN. They just had their hands out last year with promises that this will sustain them, and the voters fell for that line. Now you can see that they were lying to us all.

When are the taxpayers going to say enough? How about this: If there are too many kids in school let's have those people with kids in school pay the additional costs instead of us hard working people who DO NOT HAVE ANY KIDS in the system. Set a rate at $$/child in school times the number of children at school. This is only fair (to cover the extra monies needed). The current taxes do not have to be raised AGAIN. I think someone needs to do an in-depth financial study to see where all these millions in taxes are going.
