Veterans parade is on; Ceremony isn't

Hayden's fourth annual Veterans Day parade is today.

The parade, which starts at 10 a.m., runs south on Government Way from Hayden Avenue to Honeysuckle. Government Way will be closed to traffic from 9:45 to 11 a.m.

Dorothy Tarleton was selected the parade's grand marshal. After the parade she'll be honored at Hayden City Hall as the 2010 Distinguished Veteran of the Year.

Contrary to a report in Friday's Press, the Marine Corps League Pappy Boyington Detachment 966 will not conduct its annual Veterans Day ceremony at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens Ceremony.

PF baby sitter

hearing set

COEUR d'ALENE - A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Post Falls baby sitter accused of murdering a 3-year-old boy.

She is accused of killing Cohen Johnson in early October while she was baby sitting him. She allegedly shoved the boy down and he received head injuries, which reportedly caused his death.
