Melvin James Hurst, 51

Melvin James Hurst, 51, passed away Nov. 3, 2010, at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. He was born Dec. 4, 1958, to David Hurst and Janice Peterson-Hurst in Spokane.

Melvin was raised in the Post Falls area. He worked as a custodian for the Spokane School District where he was loved by children and teachers. He loved fishing, target shooting and long drives in the mountains.

He is survived by his parents, David and Janice Hurst; sister Caroline Hurst; brothers David Jr. and Michael Hurst; and grandmother Ellen Hurst.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls.
