Ticket presale under way

for state 5A playoff game

COEUR d'ALENE - Tickets for Friday's state 5A playoff football game between the Coeur d'Alene Vikings and Lake City Timberwolves at Viking Stadium will go on sale today in the main office of both schools.

With the game being a state playoff game, no passes will be honored except for IHSAA passes.

Tickets are $5 for adults and students without an ASB card, $4 for students with ASB card, $3 for middle school and elementary students and senior citizens.

Pre-Kindergarten students are admitted free.

Coeur d'Alene High softball

team sets taco fundraiser

COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene High softball program and the Fourth Street Taco Time are teaming up to give cash back to the support the softball program.

Taco Time will donate 30 percent of its sales over and beyond its average sales for that day between 5 and 8 p.m. Monday at its location at 2517 North Fourth Street.

Post Falls resident named

to national biathlon board

Post Falls resident Jerry Baltzell was re-elected to a second consecutive four-year term on the Board of Directors of the United States Biathlon Association.

The term will carry to October 2014, including the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

Baltzell served on the board from 1992-1996 and has been involved in the sport of biathlon as a coach and official for 25 years, including 16 years as a licensed International Referee by the International Biathlon Union.

Shock add Morris,

Hall to 2011 roster

SPOKANE - The Spokane Shock announced that defensive back Josh Morris and wide receiver D.J. Hall have been added to the 2011 roster.

Morris (6-0 186), spent time in camp with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season. Prior to his pro career, Morris played at Weber State, becoming a two-time All-American (2009-10) and all Big Sky Conference selection. As a Wildcat, Morris had 126 tackles, seven interceptions and a school-record 26 pass deflections.

Hall also has NFL experience with the New York Giants (2008) and as a member of the Oakland Raiders practice squad in 2009. During his college career at Alabama, Hall became the all-time leader in receptions (194), receiving yards (2,923) and was second in touchdowns (17).
