VOTE: Nation counting on it

| November 1, 2010 6:49 AM

Never in my lifetime have we seen such desecration of our institutions of government.

Every item on the agenda in Washington, D.C., is up for sale. Lawyers have taught us how to complain. Environmentalists have their eyes and ears tuned into nature's activity ready to pick up the phone and call their lawyer to sue over any situation real or imagined; all to the detriment of our whole national welfare.

Our Founding Fathers were far-thinking men in their quest to establish the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. They knew that education would be the key to the implementation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights as the keystones of Liberty and the American way of life. They knew uneducated men could not bear the burden. In those days there were many who did not read or write.

Here is one recipe for curing what is wrong in our present-day government: Putting the house in order as you prefer.

"The power under the Constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can, and undoubtedly will be recalled."

- George Washington, 1787

The Power of WE THE PEOPLE is in the " VOTE." Use It!
