COEUR d'ALENE - A woman fought off three people who tried to take her purse Saturday, according to a Coeur d'Alene police report.

The victim told police she was waiting for the Citylink bus at Wilbur Avenue and Mineral Drive about 4 p.m. when a car pulled up. Two males and a female got out and approached the woman while a fourth stayed behind the driver's wheel.

They told the woman they wanted her money, and she said she didn't have any. Then, they tried to take her purse, which was looped over her head with the strap resting on her right shoulder.

She punched one of the suspects and told them to let go, the report said. The suspects ran back to the light-colored compact, and the driver headed north on Mineral Drive.

A witness told police he tried to follow the car and get a license number, but lost track of it.

After speaking to police about what happened, the woman still caught her bus.
