NELSON: Business background a boost

| May 20, 2010 7:14 AM

It is with pleasure I have the opportunity to speak on behalf of Jai Nelson who is running for County Commissioner of Kootenai County. Jai is an experienced business owner who has resided in Kootenai County her entire life. She is vitally interested in openness and transparency in our county government. She plans to bring about transparency by placing the county checkbook online so expenditures can be traced and followed by everyone.

Jai’s innovative proposal is to initiate a two-year freeze on property taxes with any shortfall in revenues to be funded from the $46 million in cash and investments currently held by the county.

Jai Nelson has a long history of leading by action and standing up for Kootenai County residents on critical issues.

Those who have watched her in action at recent County meetings can appreciate that she is a strong candidate who is versed in important County matters. She is the only rural living District 2 Candidate who can bring rural representation to the board.
