NELSON: She reflects the people's values

| May 19, 2010 7:27 AM

Jai Nelson is my choice for County Commissioner.  She is a lifetime resident of Kootenai County.  Although she has lived in the urban areas at times, for many years she has been a resident of the Rockford area.  She knows Kootenai County and the people who live here and their values.  We can count on her to defend those values enumerated in the Kezziah-Watkins study of Kootenai County residents.

Jai Nelson has a bachelor’s degree from the U. of Idaho and works part time as a registered cardiac nurse but also has a 25-year interior decorating consulting business.  On controversial matters, she has a history of researching issues before making a decision.  She is an articulate speaker and does a good job of making meaningful presentations at meetings.

For many years I have observed Jai attending hearings, deliberations and meetings to keep informed about County matters.  She has provided leadership for her community and will be an effective participant as a County Commissioner.  Jai Nelson narrowly lost in her bid for County Commissioner in the last election but has continued to study the operation of the County.  She will not need to learn the job after being elected.
