Hospice hires director of

community development

Hospice of North Idaho named Amanda Miller as its director of community development.

"Hospice of North Idaho has a great reputation for the compassionate care they give to patients and their loved ones. I'm thrilled to be a part of an organization with such deep roots in this community," Miller said. "I'm especially excited about the Hospice House project; it's one of many things that really drew me to this opportunity."

Hospice of North Idaho is a nonprofit that has served the community for nearly 30 years. Miller will be in charge of building relationships in the community, overseeing fundraising, assisting with the capital campaign to build Idaho's first Hospice House, and helping the organization spread the word about all its services and programs that are available to the entire community.

"Amanda brings such passion, knowledge and energy with her; we are very excited to have her on board," said Executive Director Paul Weil.

Miller was the development director at Dirne Community Health Center for the past two years, and was a microbiologist for the United States Department of Agriculture's Research Service at Washington State University prior to this.

Bankcda celebrates nine years

Monday was the celebration of the 9th anniversary of the opening of Bankcda. Assets of the independent community bank have grown from $16.3 million after its first 10 months in business to year-to-date average assets of $90.7 million.

"Their dedication and that of our founders, shareholders and loyal customers have made us what we are today," said Bankcda President and CEO Max Faller, who attributes the bank's success to its directors and employees, many of whom have been with the bank from the start.

In 2001, Bankcda welcomed its first customers to what was then Building A at 1620 Northwest Blvd., a 3,400 square-foot facility.

"Back then," said Faller, "Bankcda's goals were to be friendly, responsive and efficient in meeting customer needs. The goals remain the same, today and every day."

Milestones include opening a branch in Hayden at 200 W. Honeysuckle in October 2004, and moving the Coeur d'Alene branch to a 12,000-square-foot facility at 912 Northwest Blvd. in July 2008. Also in October 2008, Bankcda completed its reorganization as a subsidiary of a bank holding company. As a result of the reorganization, Bankcda became the wholly-owned subsidiary of Coeur d'Alene Bancorp, an Idaho corporation.

Bankcda is a state-chartered, FDIC-insured commercial bank headquartered in Coeur d'Alene. Both the Coeur d'Alene and Hayden facilities as well as a courier service serve the commercial and individual banking needs of the area.
