George Kevin Joe, 47

George Kevin Joe, a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, passed from this life into the next on May 13, 2010. George was born in Spokane on June 17, 1962, to Mose Joe Williams of the Okanagan Indian Band in Vernon, British Columbia and Jacquenetta Williams of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe in Worley.

George was the oldest of nine children. George was known as an all-around athlete and outdoorsman. George worked at the Coeur d’Alene Tribe Casino and his work there was a major part of the Casino’s success.

George was a loving father to seven children. He is survived by his first wife Missy and their three children, Justine Cordova, and Cheyenne and Cameron Joe; his wife Pamela Joe and their children, Bethany, Kezia, Tatiana, and Rhiannon; his mother and step-father, Jacquenetta Williams and Philip Barnaby; sisters, Valerie Fast Horse, Tami,  Cyndi, and Rhonda Williams; brothers Richard Williams, Gary Jo Hill, and Uriah and Willie Barnaby; his 27 nieces and nephews, and 10 great nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his father Mose Joe Williams and his sister Debbie Joe.

Memorial Services were held at the Rose Creek Longhouse in Worley on Saturday May 15, 2010. A funeral was held Sunday May 16, 2010, in the Rose Creek Longhouse with burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Worley. A dinner also took place following the funeral at the Rose Creek Longhouse.
