IB FORUM: More like censorship

In regard to the IB/PYP "open forum" held at the CDA library on Monday night...I'm really not sure what to say.  Or, maybe I do. 

This was not an open forum.  Only one side was represented and only one side was allowed to speak.  As a matter of fact, if  you were a known PYP supporter, you were asked to leave. 

I attended the "forum" in hopes of gaining a bit more insight as to why many in our community are opposed to said program.  All I heard and saw were selected excerpts "right from the IBO's own literature" that encouraged a group of people who do not want to allow children (most of who are not theirs) to be open minded. 

The more I listened the more I understood that this group of "citizens" is scared. "Of what?" you might ask. Of children growing up to have different opinions than theirs.  Oh no, you can't let a child grow up thinking that they are entitled to their own opinion after examining "all" of the facts versus only the facts that, say, only their parents choose to present to them.

 For all those at this "open forum" who tout that IB is un-American, here is something you might want to mull over. Since when is censoring what people say, hear and learn American?

Try not to get too tangled up in the flag you wave so fervently. You just might hang yourself.
