COEUR d'ALENE - More than a dozen people were arrested Saturday morning in a multi-agency drug bust at two homes located five blocks from both an elementary and middle school.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department, North Idaho Regional Violent Crimes Task Force, and S.W.A.T. members apprehended 13 people, including one female juvenile, for a variety of drug offenses including possession of methamphetamine.

"It's a lot of drug offenses for one neighborhood," said KCSD's Maj. Ben Wolfinger, declining to comment on how many narcotics were seized as the case is under investigation.

The homes were located at 1811 and 1814 E. St. Maries Ave. in Coeur d'Alene, around a third of a mile from both Fernan Elementary School and Lakes Middle School.

Tenants of 1814 E. St. Maries Ave. declined to comment Wednesday afternoon.

Wolfinger said the department believed all but two or three of the people lived at either of the homes.
