Man dies in Ramsey crash

HAYDEN - An unidentified man died Monday night in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Ramsey Road, between Lacey and Wyoming avenues in Hayden.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department said a small northbound car on Ramsey crossed the southbound lanes of traffic, went off the road, rolled, and struck a fence and security barriers at the Army Reserve Center.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.

Initial investigation showed speed was a possible factor in the crash. Deputies were still on the scene investigating late Monday.

The department said it planned to release the man's name today, following notification being given to family.
