| March 28, 2010 9:00 PM

BONNERS FERRY - Timberlake defeated Intermountain League rival Bonners Ferry 12-0 in the Bonners Ferry tournament championship game, finishing with a 3-0 record over the weekend.

Timberlake opened with a 9-2 win over Wallace on Friday and defeated Potlatch 6-3 behind a complete game by Tyler Shaffer on Saturday morning.

"We were pretty solid as a group this weekend," Timberlake coach Bill Rider said. "Tyler threw great against Potlatch. They're a pretty good 1A team, but we played pretty well as a team this weekend."

Kenny Ridgeway scored five runs in the tournament for Timberlake (4-2), which hosts Sandpoint on Thursday.

Lake City wins one, loses one at tourney

LEWISTON - Bryce Mort hit a two-run double with two out in the fourth inning to help lift Lake City past Centennial 3-2 in a Lewiston tournament game at Airport Park.

"Grant (Curtis) pitched an excellent game for us against Centennial," Lake City coach Al Bevacqua said. "He had a good fire in his eyes and the kids competed really well in that game."

Rocky Mountain scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to move past the Timberwolves 8-4 at Airport Park.

"We left a lot of baserunners out there," Bevacqua said. "We ran into a buzz saw with Rocky Mountain. They played really fundamentally sound and we played to their tempo, not ours. Overall, I was pleased with the weekend we had."

Trojans rally past Bears, fall to Bengals

A three-run bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Post Falls Trojans past Moscow 3-2 in a Lewiston tournament game at Field of Dreams in Clarkston.

Zack Reeder stole third with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and scored the winning run on an errant throw by the catcher into left field on the play.

Lewiston jumped ahead of Post Falls early and won a nonleague game 12-3 at Church Field in Lewiston.

"We showed our youth a little bit against Lewiston," Post Falls coach Mick Zeller said. "We couldn't get a hit and couldn't score. We showed a lot of heart against Moscow to come back, but we ran out of gas against Lewiston. To have six errors - you're not going to beat Lewiston playing like that."

Cody Clark had two hits in each game for Post Falls (2-5), which travels to Lake City on April 5.
