These three rounds are on us.

So says Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area, which is offering free weekend skiing beginning today.

“It’s a way to go out on a high note and say ‘thank you’ to all our visitors,” said Phil Edholm, Lookout Pass president.

All day today, Saturday and Sunday, visitors can ski for free. All they have to do is show up.

“Just go to the ticket counter and get a free ticket,” Edholm said.

It might be one of the last weekends skiers can hit the hill, too, as Lookout will likely call it quits for the season on April 4. This season, around 57,500 visitors hit the slopes, around the same number as last year, despite only around half of the snowfall this year.

Around 200 inches have piled up this year, compared to 400 the year before.

Lookout Pass is off Interstate 90 near the Idaho-Montana state line.

It’s open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
