Rangers rally past Devils

Chris Drury scored the tying goal with 16.5 seconds left in regulation and Erik Christensen had the only tally in the shootout as the New York Rangers shook off three deficits and gave their playoff hopes another boost with a 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night at Newark, N.J.

The Rangers, 10th in the Eastern Conference, moved within three points of eighth-place Boston and five behind No. 7 Philadelphia.

Blue Jackets 8, Blackhawks 3: Antoine Vermette had two goals and an assist, leading Columbus past visiting Chicago.

Sharks 3, Stars 0: Evgeni Nabokov made 27 saves for his 50th career shutout, and San Jose beat visiting Dallas.

Canadiens 4, Panthers 1: Brian Gionta scored twice, leading Montreal past visiting Florida.

Predators 4, Coyotes 3, SO: David Legwand scored the shootout winner, leading Nashville past visiting Phoenix.
