Business After Hours scheduled for today; Coeur d'Alene Cellars tops in Idaho; Gottlieb earns senior fellow status

Business After Hours scheduled for today

March's Business After Hours will be held 5-7 p.m. today at ROW Adventures, 202 E. Sherman Ave.

Business After Hours is a networking event and opportunity for members of the Coeur d'Alene Area Chamber of Commerce to show off their offices or facilities. They are held on the fourth Thursday of each month. Food and beverages are provided by the sponsor business and there are drawings for door prizes. The program is designed as a way to meet other chamber members in a more casual "After work" atmosphere.

Coeur d'Alene Cellars tops in Idaho

Coeur d'Alene Cellars was named the Wine Press Northwest "Idaho Winery of the Year" for 2010. Wine Press Northwest is a quarterly magazine that focuses on Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia's winemakers and wineries, vintners, and restaurants that showcase Northwest wines.

Annually, the publication chooses one Idaho winery to showcase as the Winery of the Year. Coeur d'Alene Cellars was recognized by the magazine for its 2006 Envy Syrah and 2006 Boushey Vineyard Syrah, received the highest rating, "Outstanding," as did the regular 2005 Syrah.

The 2006 Mo, the winery's first single-variety bottling of Mourvedre and named after the neighborhood's resident pheasant, was also noted.

The 2007 Chardonnay was also rated "Outstanding," and both Viogniers, were rated "Excellent."

Gottlieb earns senior fellow status

Monika Gottlieb, M.D., a hospitalist at Kootenai Medical Center, has been tapped to join the inaugural class of senior fellows of The Society of Hospital Medicine. Hospitalists are physicians whose primary responsibilities are attending to patients receiving hospital care.

The inaugural class of designees represents hospital medicine's experienced leaders. To be considered, an applicant must:

• Serve as a hospitalist for at least five years

• Be a member of The Society of Hospital Medicine for at least five years

• Demonstrate dedication to quality and process improvement, commitment to organizational teamwork and leadership and engage in lifelong learning and education.

Gottlieb will be inducted at the Society's April 10 annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
