LEWISTON - Coeur d'Alene coach Bryan Duncan said his top 3 guys were at 12-under at one point in the round. Although they faded a little as a team, their rounds were good enough to knock off the host Bengals in the Lewiston Quad held at Bryden Canyon on Monday.
"It felt big beating Lewiston on their home course - something we don't do often," Duncan said.
Brennan Stillinger was the medalist with a two-under 69, Andrew Roller finished with 71 and fellow Viking Alex Pounds carded a 72.
Spencer Skipper fired a 77 for Lake City, and Jayce Yoshida paced Post Falls with an 82.
On the girls side, Danny Jagelski of Lewiston took medalist honors with a 10-over 82 at Avondale. Melody Melton, Coeur d'Alene girls coach, said the event was moved up here since Avondale will be the regional and state site. "There was no snow on the course, so why not give the girls a chance to play it?" she said.
The Post Falls girls came in second to Lewiston, with the Trojans' Maddie Dodge carding an 86, the second lowest round of the quad after Jagelski's.
"I was very happy with Samira (Obeid's) effort - she has not played on varsity or 18 holes before, but she gave it her all," Melton said.
"We are a very a young team, with one senior and all sophomores and freshman, but we have a lot of potential there."
Ashley Eachon shot the low score for the Lake City girls, a 105. Coeur d'Alene players Dani Olsen and Jordan Hintz each carded 100.
The area girls teams tee it up next in the Moscow Invite on April 6. The Coeur d'Alene boys are back on the course Thursday at the Pullman Invite.
