HEALTH CARE: Let it take flight

| March 18, 2010 10:59 AM

The health care bill is a Rube Goldberg plane that may only go a few yards and crash and burn.  Kind of like that baling wire and bicycle parts thing they put together at Kitty Hawk.

This health care bill, for better or worse is the result of the whole legislative process. It is what you Democrats and Republicans have come up with through all your respective yeeing and yawing. If you chose to participate, or stand back and whine, that was your choice. But you were all assigned to it and now it’s due.

Health care financing as we know it is failing. The 30 percent raises, again this year, are an admission of the problem, and people are indeed dying right now as a result.

People told the Wright brothers “If God had wanted man to fly he’d have given us wings,” but they didn’t listen to the doomsayers. And they didn’t stay “at the drawing board” forever, as some have done for years in health care without making a mark. No, the inventors had no idea all the problems aviation would open up. They just put that thing in the air so they would know what to fix and improve.

So, Congress, turn in your work. Show us what you’ve accomplished. Pull the stupid cord and see if your piece of, uh...junk... will fly.

Oh, by the way. Isn’t that how we got 747’s and the aviation industry?
