Connie Lou Masterman, 56

Connie Lou Masterman passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, due to cancer. Connie was born in Superior, Mont., on Nov. 4, 1953, to Clifford and Alice Claflin.

She graduated from Priest River High School in 1971 where she was the Homecoming Queen her senior year. Connie met Steve Masterman in Drivers Ed and married him in 1974. They moved to Coeur d’Alene after the wedding where they started their family. Their love produced two children.

Connie was loved by all that knew her. She began her employment at the Shopko in 1985. There she befriended all of her fellow employees and warmed the hearts of all her customers.

She enjoyed collecting snowmen and Boyd’s Bears when she wasn’t quilting or helping others. Her home was always decorated to suit the season whether it was bunnies for spring of snowmen for the winter. Connie’s passion was for her family. Her grandchildren were her world and she loved to make blankets for them and spend as much time with them as possible.

She is survived by her mother and father, Clifford and Alice Claflin; siblings Mike and Margeux Claflin, Gary and Leisa Claflin, and Jerry and Wanda Allbee; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Becky Masterman; daughter and son-in-law Brandy and Jason Lindgren; her four grandchildren, James, Mason, Austin and Jade.

Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Rodney.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Graveside service will be held after the memorial at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made at the Shopko Pharmacy in Coeur d’Alene or at English Funeral Chapel on the day of the service.
