Shaffer's gem leads Timberlake

SPIRIT LAKE - Timberlake's Tyler Shaffer struck out nine in five innings as the Tigers defeated the Wallace Miners 10-0 in a nonleague game on Thursday at Timberlake High.

"We played pretty well," Timberlake coach Bill Rider said. "It took a little bit longer to get our bats going, but we started to string some stuff together in the fourth."

Tyler Beard broke up the perfect game, leading off the top of the fifth for Wallace (0-1).

Shaffer added three RBIs for Timberlake (1-2-1).
