GUNS: Rights in the crosshairs

| March 17, 2010 6:54 AM

It’s a different world I live in.

I read where Ryan walked up to his ex-wife’s apartment. The door opened, Ryan walked away and was shot dead. The shooter committed suicide.

Guns kill. People pull the trigger to settle arguments, confrontatations, or fill-in-the-blanks. Guns have to be filled with bullets. Guns have to be held in a hand and pointed and the trigger has to be pulled.

There’s an argument at the Supreme Court level about this “right” that is argued everywhere. The argument before the Supreme Court is that government determines who buys guns and who uses guns.

It’s no longer a defense. It’s a way of dealing with people.

Is it a right to be killed? Who asked Ryan about his rights? I’ll bet he was surprised and he died. It’s no small matter that his killer commited suicide. Two dead people in our town from this. Kids with no father. Wives with no husbands. Families with no sons. It’s the “norm” these days to read about this.

It wasn’t always the “norm.” There are as many reasons for what happened as there are guns available for sale. How can anyone make sense of what happened? Sense left.

Enough Said.
