Wallace voters approve $1.3M levy

WALLACE - Voters in the Wallace School District approved a two-year, $1.3 million supplemental levy Tuesday night.

It received 60.3 percent approval, 336 yes votes to 221 no.

"I think it's a positive statement for support of our schools on the part of our patrons," said WSD Superintendent Dr. Bob Ranells. "I'm very pleased by the amount of participation, and the vote obviously."

With a new levy to work with, the Wallace School District is in a better position to combat its financial needs, he said.

"The levy absolutely helped us," Ranells said. "That's very much our effort is to maintain the programs and the staffing we have in place."
