JOBS: If you need one, act like it

| March 15, 2010 7:49 AM

Job hunters, Im sorry but you’re not a job hunter if you call a business. Try this: Put a resume together and dress like you’re getting ready for work. That means if you walk into a place and everyone is wearing a suit or dress, don’t ask for a job in your blue jeans.

Here is another thought: Bring a resume and a list of references. Don’t bring your girlfriend or mother with you and yes, you can bring a working pen.

I can’t believe looking for a job like you don’t care counts with the unemploment office. How does calling to see if there is an opening and not even talking to a manager count towards your daily quota with the unemployment office? I’m sorry but if your lazy rear end can’t do better than that, no employer should hire you.

Also, no one cares how many texts you can send in a minute. I don’t think anyone should get unemployment benefits if they can’t show the unemployment office a copy of their resume. Ye gads, with the quality of Americans looking for a job, I’d move my business to Mexico, too.

Please people, get a clue. Men, take out your earrings, and women, hide your tatoos.
