Ticket sales for Hayden chamber banquet end today

| March 13, 2010 7:00 PM

HAYDEN — Today is the last day to buy tickets to the Hayden Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Hayden Lake Country Club.

Tickets are $60 and include dinner at the club and can be purchased by calling the chamber at (208) 762-1185. There will be a no-host bar.

The 2010 “H.A.Y.D.E.N. Awards” will be given out in the humanities, arts, youth, distinguished citizen, education, and new business categories, said Nancy Lowery, chamber board president.

Also recognized during the evening will be Hayden’s citizens of the year for 2009, the Northern Lakes Fire District firefighters of the year, Hayden’s educators of the year, and the city’s distinguished veteran of 2009.

Lowery said live music — light jazz — will be played by Coeur d’Alene group North Point.

She said there will be a couple silent auction items, and commemorative wine glasses with the chamber logo will be sold. Photographs to remember the evening will be taken by Heritage Fine Portraits and sold.

Custom-made “Haydenopoly” board games will be sold for $25. The Haydenopoly game plays a lot like the popular board game with a similar name. Players roll the dice and try to buy businesses all around Hayden, for fun.

The money from sales of the board games goes to pay off debt remaining from the chamber’s 2004 “Thunder Over the Prairie” air show, Lowery said.
