CHICAGO - Post Falls High senior guard Katelyn Loper has been named Gatorade Idaho girls basketball Player of the Year.

The 6-foot-1 Loper averaged 22 points, 5.6 rebounds and four assists this season for the Trojans, who finished 14-10. Loper was named the 5A Inland Empire League Player of the Year, and became the school's all-time leading scorer.

Loper has maintained a 3.21 GPA. An active member of her church community, she has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach.

"Loper is such an enormous offensive threat," Spokane Stars AAU basketball director Ron Adams said. "I really think she might be the best outside shooter in the country. She just doesn't miss."

Loper has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball next season at NCAA Division I Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
