Vet cemetery open house

North Idaho veterans are invited to an open house at the new regional veterans cemetery at Medical Lake west of Spokane from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The cemetery will serve veterans and their families from throughout the region. The grand opening is expected for Memorial Day in May. The next closest veterans cemetery is in Eagle near Boise.

To reach the cemetery, take the Medical Lake exit from Interstate 90. Go north through Medical Lake and watch for a hard right curve. That is where you keep going north. The lake will be on the west side of the road and the cemetery on the right.
