RECALL: Facts support Tschida

Residents of Spirit Lake, there is currently a recall petition on file to remove Spirit Lake councilwoman Shelley Tschida from her council seat of seven plus years.

The persons behind this recall will be contacting you to sign the next petition which enables this recall to go to an official special election at the expense of the city taxpayers.

I urge you to carefully study the facts about this woman before listening to the opinions of those who are soliciting your signature. Most of them rarely, if ever, attend any of the council meetings and have not witnessed the competent professional manner in which she conducts herself.

Know the facts. Ms. Tschida is an educated woman, who after weighing all sides of an issue, votes for what she feels is overall best for the city. She has extensive knowledge of city infrastructure, growth issues and how your tax dollars are spent. She has pressed hard for a line item budget to account for all taxpayer monies. She is a capable grant writer; having obtained several grants for the Spirit Lake YES and juvenile program. Her actions have proven to me that she is a very involved and caring citizen and has the community’s best interest at heart.

I implore you to attend City Council meetings every second Tuesday, 6:30 at the Senior Center, to find out for yourself where each of our council representatives stand on certain issues.  Talk with them one on one. Go to spiritlakeid.org to read council minutes or better yet, get a recorded copy of them from the city clerk. It will be abundantly clear how this woman conducts herself on behalf of Spirit Lake citizens.

Please do your homework. Our city needs qualified people like Shelley in office. Keep her open voice on our city council.
