County candidates file for primary election

At the end of the first day to file for the primary election, several made their candidacy official on Monday.

Democrat and current Kootenai County Clerk Dan English filed to run again for his position.

Republican County Commissioner Rick Piazza, representing district 3, filed to keep his office.

Republican and current County Assessor Mike McDowell filed to keep his position.

Jody DeLuca Hissong, Democrat, and Debbie Wilkey, Republican, both filed candidacy for coroner.

The current coroner is Robert West, who is retiring this year.

The deadline for party members and independents to file candidacy is 5 p.m. March 19. Candidates can file at the county Elections Office on 3rd Street in Coeur d'Alene.
