Hayden Lake man OK after U.S. 95 crash

| March 7, 2010 8:00 PM

A 45-year-old Hayden Lake man was involved in a two-vehicle crash north of Craigmont on U.S. 95 on Saturday night, but was not injured, Idaho State Police said.

Charles R. Nuttall Jr. was headed northbound in a tractor-trailer when an SUV driven by a 50-year-old Lewiston woman, traveling southbound, crossed into Nuttall's lane, police said.

Nuttall swerved to avoid Roberta L. Peterson, but Peterson struck the tractor-trailer, causing her Isuzu Trooper to flip down an embankment and land in a ditch, police said.

The semi completely blocked the highway for more than two hours, police said.

Peterson was taken to a hospital in Cottonwood, where she was treated and released. The crash is still under investigation, police said.
