Donald Joseph Mousseau passed away March 1, 2010, at his home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born Jan. 25, 1938, in Silverton, Idaho, to Fontella (Donaldson) and Donald Mousseau.

Don grew up in Wardner, Idaho, and graduated from Kellogg High School. He then attended Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls, Ore. He married his high school sweetheart, Lenore Page and they raised their son, Ricky Joe and daughter, Bridget Eileen in Coeur d’Alene.

Don’s career with the Idaho State Highway Department spanned more than 30 years. During that time he learned to survey and continued to work with Dale Dahlman as a surveyor beyond his retirement years.

Two highlights of Don’s life included a trip to the Super Bowl in Dallas, Texas, and a sizable win from the lottery.

From his retirement home in Bayview, Idaho, Don enjoyed hunting, camping, backpacking, high mountain lake fishing and four-wheeling.

Don’s parents and son preceded him in death. He is survived by his best friend and caregiver, Lenore Waters; his daughter, Bridget Wilson and husband, Jim and grandchildren: Bryant, Kylie and Devin Wilson; daughter-in-law Pat Mousseau and grandson, John Krzysiek; brother Doug Mousseau and family of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters: Florence Hattery and family of Murphys, Calif., and Vicki Gilman and family of Pinehurst.

A tribute to Don’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Coeur d’Alene Seventh-day Adventist Church at 111 E. Locust. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of North Idaho.
