Jalees to search for giggles at NIC

| March 4, 2010 8:00 PM

Comedian Sabrina Jalees will entertain an audience at North Idaho College with her comedy act at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, in the NIC Activities Center, on the lower level of Edminster Student Union Building.

Jalees' career began at 16 when she stepped on stage during amateur night at a club in her native Canada. She was the youngest comic to tour for Yuk Yuk's comedy club, the youngest comic to record a Comedy Now special and the youngest standup comedian to perform at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival.

At 17, Jalees broke comedian/actor Mike Myers' record for being the youngest comic ever hired by Second City, the improv-based sketch comedy club and training center. She hosted the Canadian Broadcasting Centre network's Smart Ask show and has appeared on various other television broadcasts, including an appearance on NBC's Last Comic Standing.

Jalees is the host of CBC Radio's Laugh Out Loud with Sabrina Jalees and was the Toronto Star's weekly humor columnist for three years before moving to New York City in 2009.

The event is free and open to the public.
