SWIMMING

The Coeur d'Alene Area Swim Team competed in the Summer Solstice meet on June 18-20 in Spokane.

A total of 65 CAST swimmers swam in both sunshine and rain at the new 50-meter Witter Pool, and a handful of them walked away with high point hardware.

Kathryn Moon was the high-point winner for the 8-and-under girls, and Nicole Rozier (11-12 girls) and Bryce Kananowcz (13-14 boys) also claimed first-place trophies. Caleb Markowski (8-and-under boys), Cole Curtis (9-10 boys), Micah Hudlet (9-10 girls), and Ethan Cordes (11-12 boys) all swam to runner-up finishes in their respective age groups.

Five CAST swimmers will next compete at the Western Senior Sectional meet in Mount Hood, Ore., July 20-24.
