Take time to dedicate art tomorrow

| June 29, 2010 6:55 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — In preparing for tomorrow, Teresa McHugh has been busy every night brushing her public art piece at the corner of 23rd Street and East Sherman Avenue.

So take time tomorrow to see Coeur d’Alene’s newest public art piece during a public art dedication of the finished piece, “Take Time,” at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the southwest corner of 23rd and Sherman.

And if you look closely, the piece says “Cd'A.” It says it in bronze beams which wrap around the 20-foot steel statue of a ponderosa pine tree like cursive, spelling out the Lake City's abbreviation.

It’s what will greet anyone who enters Coeur d'Alene from the east end of town from now on.

Mayor Sandi Bloem will help host the dedication. and coffee and sweets will be provided by the city.
