James (Jim) Franklin Enders, 71

James (Jim) Franklin Enders, 71, of Coeur d’Alene died June 25, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center. Jim was born Jan. 30, 1939, to Eugene Enders and Alta Nickerson Enders-Eisner in Kellogg.

Jim was raised in Otis Orchards, Wash. Jim moved to Post Falls and graduated from Post Falls High School in 1957. After graduation, he moved to Seattle and worked for Boeing. Upon his return to the area, Jim married Carol Emehiser on Nov. 26, 1960. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this November.

Jim was an auto-body man from 1961-1978. Jim and Carol owned and operated Lakers Tavern from 1977 to 1998 and Lake City Fast Photo from 1997 until 2006. Jim enjoyed spending time with his wife and family especially his five grandchildren, a love of classic cars with his son Brad, working on projects with his son Mark, taking care of his incredible landscaping and spending time at their place on the Coeur d’Alene River. He was known for his warm grin, willingness to help everyone, acceptance of others, work ethic and gentle nature.           

Jim is survived by his wife, Carol; son Brad and daughter-in-law Kristen Enders; son Mark and daughter-in-law Erin Enders; grandchildren Amanda, Rob, Izzy, Tommy and Cole Enders; brother Jerry Enders; sister-in-law and brother-in-law June and Del Gittel and family, and special family friend Betty Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Enders and Alta Nickerson Enders-Eisner and father and mother in-law Al and Irene Emehiser. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider a random act of kindness in his honor or a donation to a charity of your choice. Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. 

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Lake City Community Church. Please join us to celebrate and honor the life of Jim Enders.
